Classic Kotare:

I don't remember how this all got started, but back in 1989, in Pam's basement in Pine Acres, Dan Smedile, Chris Ciampaglia, and me (Dave Tigue) started recording some 'New Age' type music. I finished mixing it mid November 1990 in my Barrington house. The end result was 'Cloudbridge Crossing', a collection of 7 'songs' on cassette that range from bizarre (Funnel) to main stream (Christine.) I do remember one thing very clearly - we had a blast doing it.

It was done using Cakewalk (the first version I think - DOS based) on an IBM XT PC that would not start up unless you warmed it first with a heater. A Roland D-10, D20, Juno 6, Juno 1, Yamaha TX812, TX16W, Casio CZ-3000, Siel DK-600, and a Korg P-3 recorded onto a Fostex 8 track reel to reel. MIDI implementation and programming by Chris Ciampaglia. Engineered and recorded by Dave Tigue. All songs written and performed by Dan Smedile except where noted.
